The Shipley Family Foundation was established in 1997 to honor the educational legacy of Barbara and Dr. Anthony Shipley and their daughter Dr. Cornelia Shipley Bearyman through meaningful support of students and institutions.
Having awarded over $30,000 in academic scholarships and financial aid while endowing a scholarship at Adrian College, the foundation continues the family's dedication to educational access and excellence.
Our support focuses on Chandler Park Academy, Adrian College, and the University of Detroit Mercy—institutions that reflect the Shipley family's deep commitment to transformative education.
Mission Statement
The Shipley Family Foundation is committed to creating a legacy of educational support for the communities that Anthony, Barbara, and Cornelia Shipley were a part of. Our mission is to support the comprehensive educational pursuits of the entire Chandler Park Academy community and provide support for the educational institutions connected to the Shipley family, including Adrian College, the University of Detroit Mercy, and the University of Michigan.

Our Story
Why We Were Created
The foundation was initially created to support the work and community of Chandler Park Academy, the K-12 institution that Barbara and Dr. Anthony Shipley founded. Today the foundation is focused on the academic institutions connected to the Shipley Family, including Chandler Park Academy, Adrian College, and the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Psychology.
